గ్లోబల్ స్టార్ రామ్ చరణ్ మాట్లాడుతూ ‘‘నాపై ఇంత ప్రేమాభిమానాలు చూపించి గౌరవంతో డాక్టరేట్ బహుకరించిన వేల్స్ యూనివర్సిటీ వారికి మనస్ఫూర్తిగా ధన్యవాదాలను తెలియజేసుకుంటున్నాను. 45వేలకు పైగా స్టూడెంట్స్ ఉన్నారు. 38 సంవత్సరాలకు పైగా ఈ యూనివర్సిటీని సక్సెస్ఫుల్గా రన్ చేస్తున్నారు. అలాంటి యూనివర్సిటీ నుంచి నాకు గౌరవ డాక్టరేట్ ఇస్తున్నారనే విషయం తెలియగానే మా అమ్మగారు నమ్మలేదు. ఆర్మీలాంటి గ్రాడ్యుయేషన్స్ మధ్యలో నేను ఈరోజు ఇలా ఉండటం ఊహిస్తుంటే ఎంతో సంతోషంగా ఉంది. నిజానికి నాకు దక్కిన గౌరవం నాది కాదు.. నా అభిమానులది, దర్శకులు, నిర్మాతలు, నా తోటి నటీనటులది. వేల్స్ యూనివర్సిటీని ఇంత విజయవంతంగా ముందుకు తీసుకెళుతున్న యాజమాన్యానికి, టీచింగ్ సిబ్బందికి, విద్యార్థులుకు మనస్ఫూర్తిగా అభినందనలు తెలియజేస్తున్నాను.
చెన్నై నాకెంతో ఇచ్చింది. నాకే కాదు, మా నాన్నగారు తన ప్రయాణాన్ని ఇక్కడ నుంచే ప్రారంభించారు. నా సతీమణి ఉపాసన వాళ్లు అపోలో హాస్పిటల్స్ను కూడా ఇక్కడ నుంచే మొదలు పెట్టారు. తెలుగు సినీ ఇండస్ట్రీలో ఎనబై శాతం మందికి చెన్నైతో మంచి అనుబంధం ఉంది. ఏదైనా సాధించాలని కలలు కని చెన్నైకి వస్తే అది నేరవేరుతుంది. అది ఈ ప్రాంతం గొప్పతనం. అన్ని రంగాల వారికి ఈ భూమి కలలను నేరవేర్చేదిగా ఉంటూ వస్తుంది. నేను ఇక్కడ విజయ హాస్పిటల్లోనే పుట్టి పెరిగాను.
సినిమాల విషయానికి వస్తే ప్రముఖ డైరెక్టర్ శంకర్గారితో గేమ్ ఛేంజర్ సినిమా చేస్తున్నాను. ఆయనతో వర్క్ చేయాలని చాలా మంది అనుకుంటారు. నేను ఇప్పుడు ఆయనతో వర్క్ చేయటం మంచి ఎక్స్పీరియెన్స్. శంకర్గారు ఈ సినిమా కోసం చాలా కష్టపడ్డారు. డిఫరెంట్ స్టోరీతో ఈ పొలిటికల్ థ్రిల్లర్ తెరకెక్కుతుంది. ఐదు భాషల్లో పాన్ ఇండియా మూవీగా సెప్టెంబర్-అక్టోబర్ నెలల్లో విడుదల చేయాలని అనుకుంటున్నాం’’ అన్నారు.
