షార్ట్ ఫిలిమ్స్ నుంచి వచ్చిన మీరు, ఒక తెలుగమ్మాయిగా స్టార్డమ్ చూడటం ఎలా ఉంది?
– చాలా సంతోషంగా ఉంది. నా తల్లిదండ్రుల సపోర్ట్ తో పాటు సినీ పరిశ్రమ, ప్రేక్షకుల మద్దతుతోనే ఇక్కడివరకు వచ్చాను. పలువురు తెలుగమ్మాయిలు సినీ పరిశ్రమలో వారి వారి ప్రత్యేకతను చాటుతున్నారు. అందులో నేను కూడా ఉండటం ఆనందంగా ఉంది.
ఎపిక్ సినిమాలో ఆనంద్, మీరు పోషించిన పాత్రలు ఎలా ఉండబోతున్నాయి?
– ఆనంద్ పోషించిన ఆదిత్య పాత్ర సాఫ్ట్ గా, కామ్ గా ఉంటుంది. జీవితంలో ఎదురైన అనుభవాల నుంచి ఆదిత్య ఏం నేర్చుకున్నాడనేది ఆసక్తికరంగా ఉంటుంది. నేను పోషించిన కడలి పాత్ర స్ట్రాంగ్ అమ్మాయి. తన కోసం తాను నిలబడే అమ్మాయి. క్లారిటీ ఉన్న అమ్మాయి.
‘తన కోసం తాను నిలబడే అమ్మాయి’ అంటున్నారు. కడలి పాత్ర మీ నిజ జీవితానికి దగ్గరగా ఉంటుందా?
– ప్రతి ఒక్కరిలోనూ కడలి పాత్ర ఉంటుంది. కానీ, కుటుంబం వల్లనో, సమాజం వల్లనో మనలోని ఆ వెర్షన్ లోపలే ఉండిపోతుంది. బయటకు రాదు. ప్రతి ఒక్కరూ తమ జీవితంలో ఏదోక సమయంలో వారి కోసం వారు నిలబడాలి. అందుకే కడలి పాత్ర నా మనసుకు బాగా దగ్గరైంది.
బేబీ తర్వాత కథల ఎంపికలో ఎలాంటి జాగ్రత్తలు తీసుకుంటున్నారు?
– కథలోనూ, నా పాత్రలోనూ కొత్తదనం ఉండాలి. ఆ పాత్రలో నన్ను నేను చూసుకోగలగాలి. ఎపిక్ ఎంచుకోవడానికి కారణమదే.
దర్శకుడు ఆదిత్య హాసన్ గురించి?
– దర్శకుడు ఆదిత్యతో కలిసి పని చేయడం చాలా సరదాగా ఉంటుంది. ఆయన జీవితాన్ని చాలా లోతుగా గమనిస్తుంటారు. జీవితంలో ఉన్న ప్రతి చిన్న విషయాన్ని గమనిస్తూ, అందులో ఉన్న ప్రాముఖ్యత గురించి మాట్లాడుతుంటారు. ఎపిక్ సినిమాలో కూడా అదే కనిపిస్తుంది. ఆదిత్య, కడలి పాత్రల మధ్య జరిగే చిన్న విషయాలకు ఎంత ఇంపార్టెన్స్ ఉందో చూపిస్తారు. ఆదిత్య యూనిక్ డైరెక్టర్. నాకు బాగా ఇష్టమైన దర్శకులలో ఆయన ఒకరు.
– దర్శకుడు ఆదిత్యతో నాకు ముందు పరిచయం లేదు. ఎపిక్ కథ చెప్పడానికి వచ్చినప్పుడే మొదటిసారి కలిశాను. కానీ, అప్పటికే 90s వెబ్ సిరీస్ చూసి ఉన్నాను. ఆ సిరీస్ నాకు ఎంతగానో నచ్చింది.
బేబీ తర్వాత మీరు, ఆనంద్ గారు కలిసి నటించిన సినిమా కాదా.. ఏమైనా ఒత్తిడి ఉందా?
– బేబీ, ఎపిక్ సినిమాలు దేనికవే ప్రత్యేకమైనవి. ఒత్తిడి లేదు కానీ, ఛాలెంజింగ్ గా తీసుకొని ఎపిక్ సినిమా చేశాము. ఈ సినిమాలో మమ్మల్ని చూస్తున్నప్పుడు బేబీ గుర్తుకు రాకపోతే మేము విజయం సాధించినట్టే. ఎపిక్ ఖచ్చితంగా ప్రేక్షకుల ఆదరణ పొందుతుందనే నమ్మకం మాకు మొదటి నుంచి ఉంది.
నిర్మాత నాగవంశీ గారి గురించి?
– సితార బ్యానర్ లో సినిమా చేయడం సంతోషంగా ఉంది. నాగవంశీ గారు అందరికీ ఫ్రీడమ్ ఇస్తారు. ఖర్చు విషయంలో రాజీపడరు. సినిమా అవుట్ పుట్ బాగా రావాలని మాత్రమే ఆలోచిస్తారు.
‘అల వైకుంఠపురములో’ సినిమాలో చెల్లి పాత్ర చేసిన మీరు, ఇప్పుడు అదే బ్యానర్ లో హీరోయిన్ గా నటించడం ఎలా ఉంది?
– ప్రతి ఒక్కరూ జీవితంలో పెద్ద పెద్ద గోల్స్ పెట్టుకోవచ్చు అనే ఆశను నాకు కలిగించింది. పెద్ద గోల్స్ పెట్టుకొని, వాటిని రీచ్ అవ్వొచ్చనే నమ్మకాన్ని కలిగించింది. నా జీవితంలో ఇలా జరగడం మాటల్లో చెప్పలేనంత సంతోషంగా ఉంది.
ఎపిక్ సినిమాలో ఉన్న ప్రత్యేకత ఏంటి?
– మనం ఎన్నో లవ్ స్టోరీలు చూసుంటాం. కానీ, ప్రతి లవ్ స్టోరీలోనూ ఏదోక ప్రత్యేకత ఉంటుంది. ఎపిక్ లో కూడా ఆ ప్రత్యేకత ఉంది. భిన్న దారులు, భిన్న మనస్తత్వాలు ఉన్న ఇద్దరు యూకేకి చదువుకోవడానికి వెళ్లి, అక్కడ కలుస్తారు. లివ్ ఇన్ లో ఉంటారు. ఆ ఇద్దరు ప్రైవేట్ గా మాట్లాడుకునే మాటలు ఏవైతే ఉంటాయో, ఆ సంభాషణల మీద నడిచే సినిమా. అమ్మాయి జీవితాన్ని ఒకలా చూస్తుంది. అబ్బాయి ఒకలా చూస్తాడు. అసలు వీరిద్దరూ ఎలా కలిశారు? వీరిద్దరి ఆలోచనలు ఏంటి? అనేది కొత్తదనాన్ని తీసుకొస్తుంది. ఈ సినిమాలో హంగామా ఉండదు. హత్తుకునేలా ఉంటుంది.
ఎపిక్ నుంచి మీరేం నేర్చుకున్నారు?
– నేను ఏదైనా విషయం బయట మాట్లాడాలంటే కాస్త భయపడుతుంటాను. కడలి పాత్ర ద్వారా నేనొక విషయం నేర్చుకున్నాను. ముందు మనల్ని మనం నమ్మాలి, కాన్ఫిడెంట్ గా ఉండాలి.
– అమ్మాయిలు ఇండిపెండెంట్ గా ఉన్న సినిమాలు ఇప్పటికే చాలా ఉన్నాయి. అయితే ఈ సినిమాలో ప్రత్యేకత ఏంటంటే.. ఒక సముద్రం లాంటి అమ్మాయి, తన జీవితంలో ఉన్న సమస్యను డీల్ చేస్తూ.. తన జీవితాన్ని ఎలా ముందుకు నడిపించింది అనేది ఉంటుంది. ఈ పాత్ర ద్వారా మంచి సందేశం కూడా ఉంటుంది.
ఎపిక్ సినిమాకి ఫ్యామిలీ ఆడియన్స్ రావొచ్చా?
– ఖచ్చితంగా రావొచ్చు. ఈ సినిమాలో లివ్ ఇన్ రిలేషన్ షిప్ గురించి మాట్లాడతాం కాబట్టి, 90s వెబ్ సిరీస్ అంత క్లీన్ ఎంటర్టైనర్ లా ఉండకపోవచ్చు. కానీ, దర్శకుడు ఆదిత్య ఈ సినిమాకి ఏది అవసరమో అది చూపిస్తూనే, ఫ్యామిలీ ఆడియన్స్ ని కూడా దృష్టిలో ఉంచుకొని ఎంతవరకు చూపించాలో అంతవరకు చూపించారు. ఇబ్బందికర సన్నివేశాలు ఉండవు. ఫ్యామిలీ ఆడియన్స్ సినిమా చూడొచ్చు.

– సితార బ్యానర్ లో నితిన్ గారితో ఒక సినిమా చేస్తున్నాను. అలాగే, తమిళ్ లో రెండు సినిమాలు, హిందీలో ఒక సినిమా చేస్తున్నాను.

The much-awaited youthful entertainer ‘EPIC – FIRST SEMESTER’, starring the popular Baby pair Anand Deverakonda and Vaishnavi Chaitanya, is gearing up for its grand theatrical release on September 11, 2026.
Directed by Aditya Hasan, who impressed Telugu audiences with the successful web series 90s, the film is presented by Srikara Studios and produced by Suryadevara Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya under Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas.
Ahead of the release, Vaishnavi Chaitanya interacted with the media and spoke about her character Kadali, working with Anand once again, director Aditya Hasan and what makes EPIC – FIRST SEMESTER special.
“There Is a Kadali in Everyone”
Speaking about her character, Vaishnavi said, “Kadali is a strong girl who stands up for herself. She has clarity about what she wants. I believe there is a Kadali in everyone. But because of family or society, that version of ourselves often remains within us. At some point in life, everyone has to stand up for themselves. That is why Kadali is very close to my heart.”
“I Look for Something New After Baby”
On choosing films after Baby, she said, “Both the story and my character should have something new. I should be able to see myself in that character. That was one of the main reasons I chose EPIC.”
“Aditya Hasan Is a Unique Director”
Praising director Aditya Hasan, Vaishnavi said, “Working with Aditya is a lot of fun. He observes life very deeply and notices even the smallest things. He understands the significance of those little moments. The same can be seen in EPIC. He is a unique director and one of my favourite directors.”
She added, “I met Aditya for the first time when he came to narrate EPIC. But I had already watched 90s, and I really loved the series.”
“We Wanted Audiences to See Us Differently After Baby”
Talking about reuniting with Anand Deverakonda after Baby, she said, “Baby and EPIC are completely different films. There was no pressure, but we took EPIC as a challenge. If audiences watch us in this film and don’t think of Baby, then we have succeeded. We have been confident from the beginning that EPIC will receive their love.”
“EPIC Has a Different Kind of Love Story”
Explaining the film’s uniqueness, Vaishnavi said, “We have seen many love stories, but every love story has something unique. In EPIC, two people with different paths and different mindsets go to the UK for their studies and meet there. They live together, and the film revolves around the private conversations between them.”
“The girl looks at life in one way, while the boy sees it differently. How they meet and how their perspectives differ bring freshness to the story. There is no unnecessary extravaganza in the film. It is a story that touches your heart.”
“Family Audiences Can Definitely Watch the Film”
Addressing whether the film is suitable for family audiences, she said, “Definitely. Family audiences can watch EPIC. Since the film talks about a live-in relationship, it may not be as clean an entertainer as 90s. However, director Aditya has shown only what is required for the story while keeping family audiences in mind. There are no uncomfortable scenes. Families can definitely watch the movie.”
“Kadali Taught Me to Believe in Myself”
Vaishnavi revealed that her character also taught her an important lesson: “I usually feel a little scared to speak openly about certain things. Through Kadali, I learnt that we must first believe in ourselves and be confident.”
She further added, “There have already been many films featuring independent women. What makes EPIC different is Kadali’s journey. She is like an ocean, dealing with a problem in her life and finding a way to move forward. The character also carries a meaningful message.”
“Working Under the Sithara Banner Again Is Special”
Speaking about producer Suryadevara Naga Vamsi, she said, “I am very happy to work with the Sithara banner. Naga Vamsi garu gives everyone a lot of freedom. He never compromises when it comes to the film. His only focus is on ensuring that the output is good.”
Recalling her association with the banner, she said, “Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo gave me the hope that everyone can set big goals in life and achieve them. Experiencing something like this in my own life is extremely happy and difficult to express in words.”
Upcoming Projects
On her upcoming films, Vaishnavi said, “I am currently doing a film with Nithiin garu under the Sithara banner. I am also working on two Tamil films and one Hindi film.”
